These stunning crystals formed some 50 to 70 million years ago when sea life came into contact with molten lava from massive volcanic eruptions. As those prehistoric oceans receded the rock that been formed began to dry and crack, offering a home to secondary minerals such as Calcite and Aragonite - giving these eggs their spectacular patterns and druzy qualities.
